Instructions

• Let's practice visualizing the abacus in your mind.
• We'll set an initial value on the physical abacus, then you'll add numbers mentally.
• Set 34 on the abacus: Tens (3 blue beads = 30), ones (4 blue beads = 4).
• Now mentally add 25: Tens (add 2 blue beads = 50), ones (add blue bead and handle carry = 9).
• The value should be 59!
